My my My my
Season Cancelled

Dear CPYS families,

Last week,  SAY Soccer announced a collaborative decision with AYSO, US Club and USSSA to postpone all SAY activities until at least May 1st.  Yesterday, Governor Holcomb announced the closing of all school buildings for the remainder of the school year.  In light of these recent developments, along with the unknown exact peak of the virus, CPYS sadly announces the cancellation of the spring soccer season for all teams.   While we are mourning the loss of this soccer season, the safety of each child has to be our top priority. We believe it is important to follow the protocols and guidelines set out for Indiana schools by our Governor.

CPYS is more than just a few soccer games on the weekend; we have focused on deeper connections to our community - building strong, positive relationships between teammates, parents, and their children.  Our board is dedicated to the health and welfare of our children. Additionally, CPYS has fantastic coaches, who have volunteered their time to invest in the lives of your children -  they love them like their own. Each season, coaches and parents look back at all of our soccer pictures and treasure the memories.  During this time, we encourage you to talk to your children about the loss of time with friends and to be empathetic about what they are feeling. Their social, emotional, and physical health are all interconnected.  As parents, we can utilize this time to have quality family time, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. So with that in mind, we look forward to seeing you all in the fall season to create new memories, and we have high hopes for a July summer camp with NextGen.

The board will work over the course of the next week to process a full refund for each registered player.  Please keep in mind that the banks will also need time to process the refund, so expect a refund by the end of the month.  Also, we will send out periodic homework cards and videos (elearning style) as an added bonus. Encourage your kids to get touches on the ball (and exercise in general!) to help prepare for the fall season.  Finally, we want to thank our wonderful sponsors listed below and will send out periodic coupons to support all of our local businesses. Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding during this unprecedented time in history.

About CPYS

Mission Statement: The overriding mission of CPYS is to improve overall development of both individual and team skills, while providing a positive, recreational environment in which to compete.

We are a recreational and rec-plus youth soccer organization based in Crown Point, IN providing in-house and travel soccer to boys and girls ages four to eighteen.  All games are played in the Northwest Indiana Soccer League which provides an excellent environment for our players to enjoy the game of soccer and improve their individual skills. Fostering an environment of learning and recreation, the coaches and trainers of the Soccer Club provide an opportunity to explore possibilities, overcome challenges and enhance each players’ expectations and desires within the game of soccer. We offer Spring and Fall programs. Our recreational in-house league U5, U6, U7, U8 & U10 in-house teams play at Sauerman Woods. Our U12, U14, and (U19 if #s)  travel teams play at the First Reformed Church on Greenwood and the Sportsplex. Registration for the spring season is in January and fall registration is in June.
